The Robinhood Stars' 2021 ANZ Premiership campaign has been celebrated at the end of season awards night at Bruce Pulman Arena.

The Stars created history with a five-game unbeaten run to begin the competition and after some tight losses narrowly missed out on the finals - finishing in fourth spot on the ladder.

Shooter Jamie Hume was rewarded for an outstanding season with three awards - taking out the Stonz Jewellers Player of the Year award and sharing both the Members and Players Choice awards with defender Anna Harrison.

Hume was a rock in the Stars' shooting circle all season - making 14 appearances and growing with confidence every time she stepped foot onto the court and has been rewarded with selection in the Silver Ferns.

At home in the goal attack bib - Hume had her highest ever goal output and shooting percentage for a season, making 244 of her 328 shots at goal at 74 percent, with many of them coming from mid-range or deeper and keeping the Stars in games.

The dynamic Harrison came out of retirement to join the Stars and was superb at the defensive end and a nuisance for any shooters that came her way.

Harrison picked up 39 intercepts, forced 66 deflections and pulled down 14 rebounds throughout the season and formed an imposing combination with Elle Temu who received the Emerging Talent award.

Temu enjoyed a breakout season, joining the Stars from the Te Wånanga o Raukawa Central Pulse and finished the campaign with 35 intercepts, 45 deflections and 18 rebounds.

The Matariki award is given to the player who displays the team values on and off the court. This year the recipient was mid-courter Mila Reuelu-Buchanan.

Geoff Simmons was recognised as the Volunteer of the Year for his work coordinating all our wonderful volunteers on game day and helping make our home game experience a memorable on for our amazing fans.

Our National Netball League team the Comets enjoyed a great season - going through the regular season unbeaten, before being pipped by the Northern Marvels in the grand final.

Defender Lisa Putt was named Player of the Year, mid-courter Chonaire Huriwai the Players Choice Player of the Year and shooter Amelia Walmsley the Emerging Player of the Year.
