The Robinhood Northern Stars franchise is excited to announce that Greer Sinclair and Tori Kolose will be joining the team as pre-season training partners for 2021.

Both Kolose and Sinclair were born and raised in Auckland with Kolose attending St Kentigern College and Sinclair, Epsom Girls Grammar.

Kolose is an all-important mid-court cover in all three positions and her strengths lie in her adaptability, speed and quick feeds on and off the circle edge. She has been in the Northern Comets and a Stars training partner for the past two years and is wanting to take her game to the next level.

Sinclair returns to Auckland after 3 years in the Waikato. Recently selected for the NZ U21 squad she is a fast and athletic WD/GD keen to get some game time at ANZ Premiership level.

Head Coach Kiri Wills is pleased to have the 2021 team confirmed and she is happy with the breadth that Greer and Tori add to the core team.  “It is great to have Tori back as she is a loyal Stars supporter and provides a solid mid-court option. We are delighted that Greer was keen to return to Auckland. She positions herself well defensively and likes hunting for the ball. She is a young talent that will benefit from the development opportunities working with Anna Harrison.”

A pre-season training partner is a key role as players may be called on at any time to play in the team to fill any gaps due to injury or absence. Oceane Maihi is a great example of this as a Northern Comets player and 2020 Stars pre-season Training Partner who was played throughout the season. She has now been elevated into the 2021 Northern Stars team.

With the team sorted we are looking forward to beginning pre-season training in early 2021.
