Kayla Cullen is one of the most dynamic and athletic players in the game. She burst onto the scene in 2011, named the ANZ Championship best young player and made her test debut later that year, aged 19. A major knee injury ruled Kayla out of the 2014 season, but she’s since become an invaluable member of the Silver Ferns and played a key part in their run to the 2015 World Cup final. She’s twice been voted as the fans favourite at the Netball New Zealand awards.
Speed off the mark, ability in the air and genuine athleticism have made Cullen a versatile player. Strong defensive qualities combined with an attacking flair make her equally comfortable at either wing or goal defence while she is also no stranger to centre.
Cullen brings a wealth of experience, still at such a young age, and will be out to make her mark on the ANZ Premiership in 2018. Her potential leadership skills will be a real asset to the young team.
